Michael Stephens, Director of Human Resources, Alston & Bird

Michael Stephens is the Director of Human Resources at Alston & Bird LLP, an international law firm with more than 1700 lawyers and employees in eleven offices.  Alston & Bird has been recognized by Fortune Magazine on their annual list of “100 Best Companies To Work for in America” for the past 18 years.  In his role, Michael manages all aspects of human resource operations, including supporting the firm’s award-winning culture that prioritizes trust, service, and inclusion.  He also serves on the firm’s National Diversity & Inclusion Committee and on the Association of Legal Administrators Diversity & Inclusion Committee, on behalf of which he has presented topics relating to law firm diversity across the country.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Science from Florida State University and has pursued human resources training through the Stern School of Business at New York University and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University.  Michael is very active in community organizations, including serving on the Board of Directors for the Historic Oakland Cemetery, and as a mentor for both Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Atlanta and Year Up Greater Atlanta.

In his free time, Michael enjoys international travel, running, and Florida State football.

Dorina Dupuis, Paramount Staffing

Dorina began her legal career as a Paralegal working for both small and large sized firms.  She has since used her Paralegal experience to successfully place legal professionals in law firms and corporations working as a recruiter for Paramount Staffing shortly after its inception 19 years ago.  She now holds the title of Senior Recruiting Consultant, and has consistently proven throughout her tenure at Paramount that she can listen to the specific and specialized needs of each of her clients and subsequently find the most qualified candidates for them. Her growing referral base has allowed her to extend her range to place legal staff not only in the metro Atlanta area, but also throughout the Southeast. Through her extensive involvement with AALA and IPMA, as well as her lengthy successful career, she stays abreast of current trends and growth patterns in the legal community.

Jennifer Sandberg, Partner, Fisher & Phillips LLP

Jennifer Sandberg is a partner in the firm's Atlanta office. Employers, In-House Counsel, and Human Resource professionals view her as a trusted advisor providing solid business advice. She works to understand her clients’ business and desired business outcomes in order to provide creative and cost-effective advice and counsel. She assists clients in accomplishing business objectives in the most efficient manner possible. Her advice is custom-tailored for employers with tens of thousands of employees or those with a mere handful of employees.

A significant portion of her practice is devoted to providing clients with day-to-day preventive advice as employers design, manage, and carry out business initiatives. Clients appreciate her “no nonsense” approach to both daily concerns and developing major issues.

She conducts legal compliance audits of human resource functions, procedures and policies, and provides a triaged approach to audit findings.
