The Atlanta Association of Legal Administrators (AALA) is THE professional association for legal management professionals in Atlanta and the state of Georgia and has been a chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators (ALA) since 1977. AALA’s 170 members represent every management role within law firms and corporate legal departments.

A legal administrator, also known as a legal management professional, is responsible for managing all or part of the administrative and business aspects of a law firm or legal department. Their role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the firm or company, allowing lawyers to focus on their legal work. AALA delivers relevant and unparalleled education in all areas of critical competencies for legal management to keep YOU ahead of the curve!

What Classifies as a Legal Management Professional?

A legal management professional manages some or all of the administrative, financial, and operational facets of a legal practice. Their roles encompass a broad spectrum of critical tasks, including human resources management, financial oversight, office administration, IT management, marketing, compliance, and strategic planning.

Sample Job Titles include: Chief Operating Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, Chief Human Resources Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Executive Director, Firm Administrator, Office Administrator or Office Manager, Human Resources Director, Controller, Human Resources Manager or Specialist, Accounting Manager, Facilities Manager, Legal Operations Manager, or Practice Manager.
