Resilience is a person’s ability to bounce back from, grow, and thrive during challenges and adversity. Coping with stress on the job requires a unique set of skills, which is why cultivating resilience in the workplace is so important. Employers today must support the development of resiliency in their employees so that future stressors have less impact.

There is a bigger picture emerging in the world of wellbeing that recognizes the impact of culture, leadership, employee engagement and the power of an agile and resilient workforce. It’s all connected, and those that take a holistic approach to wellbeing and engagement will succeed in an increasingly competitive labor market.

To address increasing volatility, rate of change, industry disruptions, and heightened turnover in the workplace, leaders of the future will need new leadership literacies for increasing wellbeing, resiliency and engagement in order to attract, engage, and retain top talent. Kathleen Schulz, MS, CHES

Kathleen brings more than 20 years of experience in designing and implementing wellness, fitness, occupational health, EAP, benefits, and work/life programs. As a Regional Practice Leader, Kathleen works with clients to design holistic strategies to address the total employee value proposition – including all the dimensions of wellbeing, employee engagement and productivity.

Prior to joining Gallagher, Kathleen spent 19 years leading award-winning occupational health and wellness programs for a large food manufacturer, and four years leading the health and wellness programs for a large telecommunications company. Her experience lies in designing integrated approaches to wellbeing & engagement by building relationships and collaborating with key internal stakeholders to understand the organization’s mission, then developing strategies that enable the mission and support high performance.

 

 

Genevieve Roberts, MBA, ACC, PHR, SHRM-CP

Genevieve Roberts is a Managing Director & Practice Leader with the Gallagher Human Resources & Compensation Consulting practice focused on HR, Leadership, and Organizational development. Genevieve is based in Richmond, Virginia.

Genevieve has over 25 years of diversified experience in Human Resources and consulting. She has performed as a business partner with varied industries including technology, health care, higher education, manufacturing, retail, financial services, non-profit, public sector and professional services. She has specialized experience in Executive Coaching, Leadership Development, Organization Structure & Development including Employee Engagement, Succession Planning, Competency Development, and Assessment tools.
