About Our Speakers

Todd Spier
Manager of Paralegal and Legal Support Services
King & Spalding

Todd M. Speir is a Manager of Paralegal and Legal Support Services with King & Spalding.  In this capacity, he manages over 65 paralegals and project assistants in the firm’s Atlanta and Charlotte offices.  Additionally, he oversees 54 legal practice assistants in Atlanta.  Prior to becoming paralegal manager in 2014, Mr. Speir had over 20 years of experience as a trial litigation paralegal and participated in trials in state and federal courts in Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Colorado.

He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1993 and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.  Additionally, he obtained a Paralegal Certificate from The National Center for Paralegal Training in 1994.  Mr. Speir currently serves on the Advisory Board for Clayton State University’s ABA-approved Paralegal Program.  He recently served as the Chapter Chair for the Southern Region of the International Practice Management Association. 

Mr. Speir is married to Melissa Speir, a fellow UGA graduate, and has two children, a freshman at the University of Georgia and a sophomore at North Atlanta High School.  When not in the office, Todd enjoys many outdoor activities, including cycling, hiking and paddling.   

 

 

Ann Pearson

Paralegal Boot Camp

 

Ann Pearson is the Founder of PRM Education Group and Director of Training for its nationally-recognized Paralegal Boot Camp®. Ann develops and delivers training programs exclusively for paralegals and other legal professionals.  The training is provided through live workshops, online training portals and custom in-house training programs.

Prior to founding the Paralegal Boot Camp in 2010, Ms. Pearson had 20 years of experience in the legal industry as a litigation paralegal and later as a paralegal manager at McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP (now Dentons). Ann managed the paralegals, case assistants, and docket clerks in their Atlanta, New York and San Diego offices. Ann was able to significantly increase the skill set, retention rates and profitability of McKenna’s paralegal group through methods that she now teaches in the Paralegal Boot Camp’s courses.
