Small Firm Roundtable

Rebecca Shanlever will facilitate this very timely topic "Employment Laws for Small Firms – What You Should Know". Rebecca Shanlever is a partner at Hall, Arbery, Gilligan, Roberts & Shanlever LLP. She litigates employment and business disputes and advises businesses from Fortune 500s to startups on a wide variety of employment issues. Clients rely on Rebecca for advice to avoid disputes and, when litigation does arise, to resolve or try the case effectively. Rebecca has extensive experience handling discrimination, harassment, and retaliation cases through all stages of litigation, from informal settlements and mediations to motion practice and jury trials. She also litigates non-competition and trade secrets cases, including a win in one of the first decisions involving Georgia’s 2011 law on restrictive covenants. Rebecca drafts and negotiates employment contracts for both employers and executives, reaching agreement on complex compensation, equity, and non-competition terms. In addition to her litigation practice, Rebecca gives legal advice and counseling on day-to-day employment matters such as discipline, medical leave, and complaint investigation. Rebecca also provides anti-discrimination and anti-harassment training for all levels of employees.  Rebecca has been recognized as one of Georgia’s Legal Elite in Employment Law by Georgia Trend magazine and as a “Georgia Super Lawyers” by Atlanta Magazine.

Rebecca is committed to providing equal access to justice serving as a regular volunteer with Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta and the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. She also serves as a Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Glenn After School Program.
